How long have you been supporting Go-Go music?: 40 years
What do you think makes GoGo music unique?: Go go music has its own sound that keeps the beat going and going.
What was your first experience with GoGo music?: I had a tape of little Benny and the masters and I would sit in my room and play that tape all day.
Who are your musical influences? What or who inspires you?: Footz, Heavy one and Buggy is who inspired me. Buggy actually taught me how to play gogo.
What has been your favorite performance so far?: My favorite was at the capital center. It was the biggest crowd I had ever played in front of.
What is the most difficult thing about being a woman in GoGo?: They tend to forget about the women. When go go is mentioned.
What has been your biggest music/GoGo career highlight so far?: Being from the old school paving the way for the new school.
Do you have any advice for aspiring female artists?: Be you and keep on pushing
When you perform and the audience sings along, how does that energy make you feel?: It hypes me up to play harder.
What do you think is the most significant barrier to female movement?: Well I would say back in the day they wanted us to not like each other. But now I lovvvvveeee how we are coming together and uplifting each other.
